Students, imagine you are Phillip. You have just awoken on a raft that is bobbing aimlessly in the middle of the ocean. There is nothing around you but endless sky and water. You suddenly realize you are not alone on the raft... The person with you is not your mother, but a large West Indian man, a stranger.
In this journal, you will need to write from Phillip's point of view. Describe what is happening around you, as well as your thoughts and feelings. Be detailed, but do not simply retell the story.
