You and Timothy are hunting calico scallops when you hear the sound of a rifle shot. Timothy quickly explains that it is not really a rifle, but the sound of waves crashing against the point. He darkly explains that means a tempis' or storm is brewing, a hurricane!
You quickly start preparation for the storm. You are nervous and scared. How can two people and a cat survive the ferocity of a raging hurricane unprotected?

When Timothy and I were hunting for calico scallops, we heard a sound of a rifle. He told me that is wasn’t a real rifle it was a tempis’. A hurricane! We lashed a tin can, and our water keg to a tree, so we wouldn’t loose them. I hope that we won’t be pulled by the water currents and leave our cay. I am nervous because Timothy, Stew cat, and I have no protection from the hurricane. During the storm, our hut was blown away, and Timothy told me that we must go to a palm tree and tie our selves to the tree for safety. When the storm died down I asked Timothy if he was all right. He didn’t answer the first time, but when I asked him the second time he still didn’t answer. When I was sitting next to him, he seemed to recover and saying “ Phill-eep . . . you . . . all right . . . be true?” I answered saying “ I am okay.” With a weak voice, he said “Terrible tempis’.” I was lying next to Timothy and fell asleep. When I woke up I said
“ Timothy,” but he didn’t answer me. Then a few minutes later I figured out that Timothy was dead.
I don’t know how I am supposed to survive on my cay by my self.
Whoa! Timothy who is shooting at us? Phillip, that is the sea. But Timothy how can the sea be shooting at us? The sea is not shooting at us. Those are the waves. Phillip this means that a tempis is coming soon. In July they are fierce.
Timothy went to tie up the keg to a palm so we could have all of our water and not lose any of it. Phillip when the storm starts, lash yourself to the palm up high. What about Stew cat Timothy? How do we save him? Stew cat will climb up the lee side of a tree and he will be fine.
At sunset the air smelled bad. Timothy said, the hurricane is coming soon. At night I gathered Stew cat close to me so I wouldn’t be so scared. Wind kept gusting on my face. A little later Timothy said the hurricane is boiling over us now. We could hear the waves getting higher and higher up. When we ran over to the palm Timothy tied me up then himself. Timothy was protecting me from the storm by putting himself in front of me. After this was over we untied our selves and went back to the hut. Timothy said we will run to the other side this time to get away from the eye of the storm. Um, Timothy did the hut just blow away? Yes it did it means the storm is coming again. This storm was much more harsh than the first one. Timothy saved my life. Timothy protected me amazingly.
Timothy are you ok? Timothy wake up wake up Timothy wakeup. While I was holding his hand to give him warmth his hand was stiff and cold. I felt down his back and it felt all sticky. The wind was so strong it blew our clothes off. Soon after I realized Timothy had died.
Now I do not have any protection because Timothy has died. I am blind and stranded on an island. I will have to catch the langosta and fry the fish on my own. I need to learn survival skills to live. How can a cat and a blind boy live is what I keep thinking? Why does it have to happen to me?
Timothy and I were just hunting calico scallops when we heard a sudden "boom!" I was excited and happy because maybe there are people near bye. Timothy just explained to me that sound was no sound of a shot from a rifle, it was a hurricane!!! I'm tremendously scared about what's going to happen. Timothy lashed our water keg and tin with rope high up in a palm tree, and he tied a rope around the palm tree to hold onto when the hurricane starts. The hurricanes coming I could feel it, I'm feeling water splashing against my feet. I'm really afraid if anything bad will happen, now the wind is colder and swiping our faces , Timothy told me to lay down on the sand and he covered my body with his, suddenly big splashes of waves started rising on to the cay and it started raining hard. When the rain got really bad Timothy said we had to go to the hut, I was so afraid in my world of darkness. Water started pouring through the roof and "whoosh" there went our hut. We had to go to the palm tree ware Timothy had tied all his belongings and the rope, we had to slip our hands through the loops. When the water started rising over my face I knew we wouldn't make it. Finally The rain started dieing down, but Timothy said that was only that side of the tempis the other side is going to come soon. The storm started again all right, it was worse than the first time. The rain started pelting hard and Timothy was taking deep breaths, I was afraid all over. When the storm dieing down the rain was light, Timothy's head was on my shoulder, I thought he was dead, I put my hand against his mouth and air was coming out. I was relieved it was all over, It took me a little while to get Timothy and I out of the rope mess, Then I laid him down on the wet sand and I laid there to think if we will ever get rescued and I fell asleep tired and head hurting there on the wet sand.

“BOOM!” What was that?! Is someone here to rescue me? Timothy told me that it was the the waves and that a hurricane was coming. I've been through a lot of storms but not a hurricane on an island unprotected! What if I die and never see my parents ever again?! What if Timothy dies? How would I live? Timothy's running around preparing for the storm with a worried look in his face. The storm has started and I'm in the hut. I'm soaking and cold. I'm terrified. The hut blew off of us and this could be the end. A million thoughts were running through my head. We ran to the tree and held on tight. The rain pelted on my back and really hurt. I shut my eyes just waiting for it to be over. Me nor Timothy had said a word. I'm to shocked and scared thinking this could be the end. I just woke up. I must have went unconscious. Wheres Timothy? Wheres Stew Cat? What happened last night. I found Timothy. He was laying next to me but he won't answer me. His skin was sticky with blood! Hes not breathing! Timothy is dead! How am I supposed to survive?! I'm going to be stuck on this island alone and blind for the rest of my life! I was to shocked, scared, and sad to cry. Timothy was my only hope of ever getting rescued. Just when I was starting to love him hes gone. I never knew what I had until I lost it. Timothy was my only friend. He took care of me. Now I'm alone and blind on the middle of an island. There is nothing I want more than to go back home and see my parents. If their still alive.
Hurricane
Timothy… why did you leave me? Before and during the hurricane, you were alive and my friend. But now you are gone, and I am alone. You made it during the first part of the hurricane, and I did too. But after we passed the eye of the hurricane… I was alone. I have stew cat, who miraculously survived… but inside, I am still alone. How will I survive? I miss you so much. I just wish you were still beside me, worrying about me instead of yourself because you care about me. Please come back, please. Well, I guess you are still looking over me, but I don’t think I can survive. Please help me... Timothy.
BOOM! What was that Timothy I asked? He said it is from the waves that means there is a hurricane coming. I began to feel worried if I was going to survive or what if Timothy dies. I asked my self questions all day long. Timothy and I had a big feast before the storm because Timothy knew that their will not be any food left after the storm. I was nervous before the storm because I did not know if it would damage this whole island and I did not know if I was going to survive or not. During the storm I was frightened and very scared. I was clutched on the tree during the storm. The rain hit my back very hard it felt like little rocks falling on my back. I was freezing cold shivering. Finally the storm went away. I was wondering where Stew Cat was. After the storm I felt to be a little calm but I was not calm when Timothy stopped breathing and could not speak. Then I felt Stew Cat on my lap I began to cry holding Stew Cat close. How am I going to survive the Cay alone? And all I can see is pitch black.
Wind was blowing harshly and waves were violently thrashing. The hurricane was slowly coming. Timothy quickly tossed me the matches, water keg, the hard biscuits old chocolate and a tin box. I put the biscuits, chocolate and matches in the tin can. Timothy quickly motioned me to the palm tree that was on the highest point on the cay. Timothy lashed himself and me to the palm tree as well as the tin can and water keg. Timothy tried to block me from the harsh winds that were blowing. The waster soon crashed on us and we were soaking wet. I was scared and worried. Worried about not making it and worried about Timothy and Stew Cat. I had never been in a storm like this before and I was glad this was my first. For probably about 2 hours, Timothy stood hunched back protecting me as best as he could from the wind and waters. Soon the waters died down again and it started to look like smooth glass. I quickly unbound me and Timothy from the tree. Timothy landed in the soft golden sand with a THUD! He spoke a few words and ten went in to a deep sleep. I curled over next to him smiling to myself because the storm was over as I went to sleep. When I woke up I found Timothy still sleeping. I felt his body which was freezing cold. I felt for the pulse but didn’t feel it. The happiness I had been feeling earlier vanished. Timothy was dead. I was all alone on a forgotten cay and was blind. I was scared. Terribly scared.
Storm on the Horizon
I nodded attentively as Timothy told me what to do if I ever fell inside a crevice while we were hunting calico scallops, but then a rifle shot sounded. I got a grin on my face, people!! But I heard Timothy let out a deeply concerened whisper," 'De tempis..." I felt him push me along up the hill to our camp. I let out a whimper when Timothy lashed the water keg and told me to put the biscuts and choclate in a tin box. He threw himself at the door and braced himself for the storm, holding the hut down as long as he could before it was blown away by the wind. He yelled to me, barely audible through the screeching wind. But it was eireely silent besides the thrashing of the sea and wind. He grabbed my hand and threw me against the lee side of a palm. Then we hung on for dear life, having a rope tied on our waists, passing under the eye to rest. Then braced ourselves agian for the other side of the hurricane. When it finally passed, I fell to the ground uncouncious. Then finally waked up to the wind swishing through the trees. I grunted, heaving myself up, I shook Timothy.....no answer.... He was cold.... I took a deep breath and stared aimlessly into the sky. Timothy was dead. After I lay back down again, I closed my eyes and slept. Suprised to find myself crying, hearing a faint mew I hugged Stew Cat and cried myself to sleep again.
I heard a rifle shot, did this mean we were going to be rescued finally. I was exited and overjoyed until Timothy told me what it really was. He said a storm was brewing and a tempest was coming. Timothy and I gathered the things we needed to hopefully survive the storm. We went to a hill, the highest point on the cay. The day was not much different than usual, until Timothy said that the wind had picked up and he storm was coming. We huddled together, then the shelter we made blew away and the storm was here. After it seemed like forever the rain had started to stop and the winds were going down. Suddenly the winds picked up and the storm was back. We ran to the palm and timothy tied me to the trunk. After the storm stopped and Timothy was taking short breaths. I told him to lie down, but it came to soon, Timothy was gone.

I Philip have heard horrible news. The horrible thing is a hurricane is coming. So Timothy and I are getting ready for the hurricane. We are putting the valuable things on top of steady palm trees. Those important things were the water keg and the tin box. Timothy and I are very nervous because Timothy has seen the horrors of a hurricane. Timothy tied us to a palm tree so we would not get blown away. During the storm, our hut blew away and Timothy protected me from the storm. After the storm I was laying there and then I untied Timothy and myself. So I called his name several times but he said nothing and right then and there I knew he was dead. Then I was too sad to cry so I fell asleep for a long time.
Ah Phill-eep this is how you pick calico scallops…BOOM! Timothy did you here that it was the sound of a rifle, that means a boat is close! No Phillip that is the sound of the sea. Ha Timothy seas can’t shoot rifles . No Phillip that means a hurricane is coming! Ah Phill-eep we ave much to do. Timothy ties our water keg on the top of a palm tree and that’s when I start thinking what if Timothy dies? If one person or animal dies on this island I want it to happen to all of us. Finally me and Timothy are ready for the storm. Timothy and I are in the hut and he is describing the ocean to me. Finally the rain is pounding on the on the hut and gusts of wind are moving the hut side to side luckily Timothy was holding it down. The wind and rain was getting out of control suddenly the hut was blown away. Timothy covered me with his body, but I could still feel the rain drops pelting against my body .The water I could tell was getting tired I wish I were at home. Timothy tied us to the trees All the water did was get higher and higher. Finally the water reached over my chest a little. I had trouble breathing for a while. I’m scared and want to be in my warm comfortable bed. Soon the storm was over. I rested for a little and untied our ropes, are you okay Timothy? His body was cold, but there was nothing I could do. I’m okay Phill-eep I just need a rest. I laid down with him and fell asleep. When I woke up I called Timothy many many times but he would not wake up. Then I knew he was gone……. Forever. I fall asleep and I was too sad to cry.

I have just heard that there is a hurricane coming. Correction there is a big hurricane coming. I don’t know what to do; I can only rely on Timothy. It looks like he knows what to do. Timothy is telling me to go to the hut. I’m trying to run as fast as I can. I have gotten to the hut, I feel a breeze coming, and it is getting stronger and colder. I am trying to find all the food I can grab. Timothy comes up to me and saying “Come on Phillip follow me.” He leads me down to a palm tree and says “Hold on Phillip.” Suddenly, out of now where a giant wave flies over our heads and splashes on us. As me and Timothy struggle to get free from the overflow of cold blue water, we finally escape and flop on to land. As I lye there on land with Timothy next to me, I start to wonder “What has just happened.” I come up from the ground thinking “How did I survive that.” I try to find Timothy, ouch; I have just tripped over Timothy. I feel Timothy’s mouth and feel that he is breathing. Then I hold his hand, and his hand is cold; then I feel his mouth again; he is not breathing. I can not believe this; my only hope to survive this island [and see] is gone. I’m so sad I’m beyond crying. What will I do now? I’m speechless right now. Lonely and speechless

Storm on the Horizon
Timothy and I were down at the reef hunting for calico scallops. I heard the sound of a rifle; Timothy said it was the waves crashing which meant there was a hurricane coming. We started preparing. Later on in the night it came. It blew our hut away, so Timothy shielded me and Stew Cat with his body. Soon he tied us up to a palm tree. When the storm was over we were laying on the ground. I said “Timothy”. There was no answer; his hands were cold and stiff. I turned to look at him. No movement. Timothy’s dead. Why did he have to leave me alone on the island?
Storm on the Horizon

Timothy and I are on the peaceful island hunting scallops until I heard a bang. I asked Timothy if it was a gunshot. He told me quickly that it meant that a tempis or a hurricane is forming then I get scared. Timothy also tells me that the sky is a dark orange color and that it is a sign that the storm is on its path for our cay. Then Timothy and I start to lash our tin can and water keg high in a palm tree. We also prepare by eating a lot of food and drinking a lot of water. After Timothy and I eat and drink a lot then Timothy uses the rope from the raft and ties it around the palm tree so that we can hook our arms in the loops and not get blown away by the fierce storm. Then right before the storm hits, we both tied our arms in the rope so that neither of us would get blown away.
STORM ON THE HORIZON
Timothy and I were hunting when we heard a gunshot. Timothy said it was not a gunshot it is a timpis coming! I was scared he said we must prepare for it to come. Timothy started to hunt even more. He also started to gather useless plants. Timothy said all the plants and trees could be gone after the storm. I felt less hope when I realized that all those plants would go in to the ocean and be wasted when I could use them to help us live. I started to help gather the food for the feast. We ate a big feast because Timothy said we would probably not eat for day’s maybe even a week. He also tied a rope to the tree near camp if the storm got super bad. At that point I was petrified knowing that the storm could get that bad. That night it began to rain it sounded like gravel on the roof and then came the wind. We suddenly noticed our hut was blown away. We took cover on the sand face first for about 2 hours until the wind died down a bit then it kicked up again but much, much worst. It was much louder and the rain was pelting on our backs we grabbed on the tree Timothy shielded my body from the storm with his back. In the morning Timothy was making strange moaning sounds like a hurt animal. He said phileep are you all right? I said I am fine. Are you okay? He said I am fine. He did not seem fine because his voice faded away. I touched his back. He was bleeding. There was nothing I could do but I was so focused that he was bleeding I noticed that when I touched him he was not breathing because he was dead. I figured that sometimes there are times beyond tears. Stew cat jumped into my lap and I started to cry
Timothy and I were hunting for calico scallops when I heard a rifle shot. Well that is what I thought I heard. I was very exited! Someone was near to rescue us! Timothy then told me that it was a wave crashing. He said a storm was near. I am very scared! What should I do? He said we had to prepare for it. We set up a water keg. That night we also ate a lot of food because we might not get a lot for a long time. During the storm, Timothy tied us to a tree on high grounds. I was very frightened. I did not know what to do. Timothy was practically on me! That was probably the only way I survived. After the storm, I was fine but Timothy was not. He was DEAD! What can I do without him? Nothing.

Timothy and I were hunting for calico scallops, when I heard a gun sound. I got some excited because somebody had come to save us! Timothy then said that, that was the wave crashing. I couldn’t understand what Timothy meant by the wave crashing. Then he said, “We will have a big storm to night. We will need to get ready.” All of a sudden I got scared. “What are we going to do?” He said we might have to prepare for it. We got the water keg. That one night we also ate a lot of food because Timothy said we might not eat food for some time. Then thunder started and it started to rain very hard. Pouring and it hurt. Timothy and I went to the tree and tied us. I was very scared I had never been in a storm like this before. It almost felt like it was only me and Timothy wasn’t there. I thought that because he wasn’t really talking saying anything really. That night I started talking to Timothy and he didn’t say anything. He just made these weird little sounds. Then he stopped. I didn’t know what happed. It was weird that he was making the sounds. I went to Timothy’s chest to see if he was breathing. Then I thought that I couldn’t breathe because Timothy wasn’t breathing!!! Timothy is dead! What do I do? I didn’t cry, I couldn’t cry. I was way too sad to cry. The next morning, I crying like there is no tomorrow.
Boom! Timothy what was that? That was the sound of a storm and a bad one. Come Philip we have to prepare. How do we do that? When I asked Timothy ignored me and got to work…. I think. I sat on the sand and waited. I felt so scared. I didn’t know when the storm was coming and how bad it would be. After awhile later I felt rain pelting agents me and then I started to cry as much as I could I was so scared I couldn't see anything and I was trying to figure out if that was a good or bad thing. After say an hour we were in the eye of the storm and know I am not as scared. During the eye I was talking to Timothy and he was scared to. After we talked the eye was over and the storm was coming to an end and was the worst part of the storm. Then during the storm it was the hardest part of the storm ever. And then I felt so much more scared then before. I cried my eyes out. Finally when I couldn't cry anymore the storm stopped. And when it was over I was scared, happy, tired, hungry, scared, scared, and scared. When I finally opened my eyes I fell asleep.

There I am with Timothy hunting for food and then boom, I thought it was some schooners’’ riffle shot that was looking for us but it was not it was a hurricane. I never would have guessed that what has just happened to me would have happened then.
When Timothy is my only source of eyesight and he tells me that a storm is brewing I start to freak out and I do not know what to do. I have heard of the storms in Caribbean and they are not pretty. When Timothy was tying up the keg and everything I was getting kind of worried. When Timothy finely gave me all the details of what will happen during the next couple of day I figured out how harsh this storm was going to be.
I am really scared what is a boy, an old man, and a cat supposed to do in a storm like this. Timothy has been frantic about preparing the hut, what food we have left and the independence I have. I had never thought during the time I am on the cay I was going to have to go through a hurricane. I don’t even know what to think about this.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, thank you that is over what Timothy has not recovered from when we were both knocked out. What no this can not be happening NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO he is DEAD and now I am alone with Stew Cat.
I don’t even what to think about what will happen next.
Timothy and I were hunting calico scallops when suddenly we heard a shot of a rifle I asked if there was a schooner or an aircraft in sight. Timothy quickly told me that it was not a rifle but, just the sound of waves crashing against the point. He told me that it meant a storm was coming, a tempis, a hurricane. When I heard him say that I became very nervous and scared because Timothy, Stew Cat, and I had no where to go on the cay during the hurricane. We started to prepare for the storm by lashing a keg of water and tin box to a tree and said “that we needed to eat a big meal before the storm”. The wind started to pick up I knew the storm was close. When the storm came our hut was blown away and we had to go to the palm tree where Timothy had tied a rope to and told me we had to tie our selves to the tree. During the storm I was very scared because when our hut blew away we had no shelter. Once the storm was over I asked Timothy if he was all right he didn’t answer. I asked him again he still didn’t answer. I asked him again he said “are you all right be true” I said that I was fine. I fell asleep and when I awoken I found out Timothy was dead. I was too sad to cry. I didn’t know how to survive on the cay by myself.
I just heard what I thought was a gunshot but Timothy says its just waves crashing against each other. This means a hurricane is coming. I really don’t like hurricanes. I remember them from back home. They were very scary back then even though they were mild. How could I possibly survive one here now that I have no house to surround me and now I can't even see! Thank goodness I have Timothy here to help me. We began eating all the food we could hold. We also hiked to high ground and strapped ourselves to a tree. The hurricane came with large waves and a mighty wind. I thought we might be killed. Even the hut that Timothy made gets blown away. We have to make our way to a palm tree for safety. We hold on for dear life. The waves crash into us. Timothy got in front of me and took the worst of the storm. The winds finally die down and I find myself naked. Timothy doesn’t move. I can’t believe he’s dead! Why did he have to die? I’m as good as dead now. Next come the tears and lots of them.
Yeah! I think I hear something! Huh, a rifle shot, somebody is here! Finally, we’re saved! Timothy. Can you see them, someone’s here. Timothy said those were the waves telling us there is a tempest coming, a hurricane. We must get ready Philip! Timothy grabs the keg and the knife and we eat and drink some coconuts. Timothy cleans the knife and puts the knife and the keg up high in a palm tree with a rope and leaves some hanging down for us to hold onto if the water gets too high. It just came to me that this is why Timothy built the hut on the highest spot on the island. I/m scared, I’ve never been in a tempest before. Uh, no! I can hear the crashing of the waves on the island shore. At least it hasn’t reached us yet! While we were waiting Timothy tells about when he was in a tempest one time. I can feel the winds blow even harder and it starts to rain. I can feel the waves on my ankles already. Now the water is up to my knees. I grab Stew Cat and Timothy takes me to the palm and ties our hands up to it. Stew Cat left, probably climbed up a palm so he wouldn’t get wet. Timothy is standing over me to help block the harsh waves. Then suddenly everything stops and Timothy tells me that we’re in the eye of the tempest. We sit and wait a while and then the winds and the waves start blowing at us again. We stand up and wait for it to pass. It seemed like we stood there for 5 hours being pelted by rain, waves and wind. It was probably only 2 hours though and finally the terrible tempest was gone! I feel Timothy lying on top of me. I untie my ropes and then his, it was hard. I can tell Timothy’s not dead because he’s still breathing. He’s probably hurt from the waves blowing at him and I can feel some cuts all over his body. I sit next to him and start talking, he barely talks back. Probable just tired. It was just then that I noticed our clothes had gotten torn off. Not caring because I was so tired I nestled up next to Timothy and went to sleep. When I woke up, Timothy was not awake yet. I notice he’s not breathing! Oh no! I thought this can’t be happening. I didn’t cry because I was too sad to even cry! I sit there and hear a meow. Stew Cat! I hold him tight and that’s when I started to cry. It seemed like I cried for a very long time and I grew tired and fell asleep.
Timothy and I were searching for scallops to eat. Suddenly, a sound like a rifle came out of nowhere. I thought we were saved because those could be people. Then Timothy told me what it really was, two waves crashing together, maybe a storm brewing or a tempos, or hurricane. We had to be prepared for the storm to come than just dying in it. We gathered our stuff and climbed up the hill to the highest point. Then we had a great lunch and getting ready for the storm. The day felt normal, but then the wind began to pick up and it started raining. The shelter that we built had gotten blown away and the storm struck us hard. It felt like forever when the storm died down, with the rain drizzling and the wind barely even noticeable. Timothy told me it would come back, and it did. We ran to the palm tree and rapped around it. The rain pelted us and the waves hit Timothy and me, but mostly Timothy; he was protecting me from dying by getting hit by those hard waves. The wind grew stronger and stronger; I wanted the storm to end once and for all. Then the storm came to its end and I was so pleased, but not for Timothy’s sake. Timothy fell flat to the ground, he was alive, I started to shake him a bit and he said, “Phill-eep… you… okay” and we both fell asleep. Then I woke up, I started to say something to Timothy, but he wouldn’t answer. I came over to him and make sure he was breathing, he wasn’t, he was dead. I am scared to survive and what Timothy taught me was very useful. I know I will survive, but I didn’t know if I could without Timothy.
Timothy and I heard a gunshot. Timothy said it meant a hurricane. So we lashed the water keg up in a tree. We ate lots of food because we might not get more for days. Timothy tried to make the hut storm proof. The storms rain pelted us and the waves slapped against us. I felt very scared. then we were in the eye and it got very calm again. Timothy didn't wake up for a while After about an hour we were out of the eye. The storm was evan worse this time one of massive waves knocked us both out. I woke up several hours later. Timothy never woke up. I later figured out he was dead!
Timothy and I are hunting calico scallops. I hear a load noise, sort of like a gunshot. I smile, people! I look over at Timothy and see that he is not smiling. I ask him why, and he says that it is not a gunshot, but the sound the sea makes before a tempis, or hurricane. We hurriedly prepared for the storm. We lashed our large water keg high up on a palm tree. Soon, the storm began. The waves splashed, and the wind howled. Soon, we have reached the eye. We get a few minutes of silence before the storm starts up again. Within seconds, it started again, worse than before. We tied ourselves to a palm tree to keep from floating away. Finally, after what seemed like the longest time, it stopped. I fell asleep, exhausted. When I woke up, Timothy was next to me. He was not breathing. Timothy, the only other person on the cay, was dead. I am not sure I will survive.
Storm on the Horizon
Timothy and I are getting calico scallops, when we heard a large BOOM! I ask timothy what that was; maybe a gunshot. He tells me that it was the waves. A hurricane was coming! We got ready for the hurricane. I was told to hang on to a palm tree. Suddenly, the storm began. Timothy blocked the rain and wind with his body, so it wouldn’t get on me. After a while, the storm was over. I searched for Tim0thy. When I found his could body, I shook him and told him to wake up. When he didn’t respond, I knew he was dead. I don’t know what I’m going to do. It feels like the end of the world for me…goodbye, timothy.
